Cape Charles is the largest town in the county and has recently been
designated a Historic District. It offers a commercial center with shops,
restaurants, antiques, medical services, churches of all denominations,
public beach, golf, harbor, marinas, boat ramp, sport fishing, summer
rentals and one of the last remaining rail barges in the country, which
regularly crosses the Chesapeake Bay to Norfolk.
The nearby town of Cheriton, VA has shopping, medical services, churches
and a restaurant. Located nearby are excellent camping facilities, as
well as historic Eyre Hall. Also nearby is Oyster, VA, a quaint
fishing village with a modern boat ramp.
