He was listed as a resident in the census report 1787 in Accomack Co, VA.(622) Absalom's will was probated 30 May 1814 in Accomack Co, VA.(623) Absalom Lewis Sr. was listed in the Acc Co, VA, Personal Property Tax 1787 -List "A" with the following tithables: 1 white male above 16 and under 21; 1 horse, mare, colt or mule; and 9 cattle. Among his neighbors were Bridget and Isaiah Justis; and John, Molly, and William Lewis. William R. Custis was the security on his 1805 Acc Co M.L.B. to Rachel Ross. His will, written 27 Aug 1808, stated: ITEM I lend unto my wife Rachel Lewis the house I now live in and one acre and a half of ground adjoining said house and two cows and calf first choice during her natural life or widowhood. ITEM I give unto my granddaughter Sally Justice five pounds cash. ITEM I give unto my grandson Revel Lewis five pounds cash. ITEM I give unto my grandson James Lewis five pounds cash. ITEM I lend unto my son Raymond Lewis during his life thirty acres of land on Sexes Island binding on starting line and the land of Wharton bought of Benjamin Marshall, provided my son Raymond Lewis pays to my daughter Ludy Jones $112.50 and my son Absalom Lewis Jur. $112.50. At my son Raymond Lewis death I give the aforesaid thirty acres of land to my granddaughter Lusy Lewis. ITEM I lend unto my son Revel Lewis during his life thirty of land on Sexes Island adjoining Lintons land and the land Wharton bought of Marshall, provided my son Revel Lewis pays to my son Absalom Lewis or his heirs $112.50 and my daughter Ludy Jones or her heirs $112.50. At my son Revel Lewis death I give the aforesaid thirty acres of land to my grandson Absalom Lewis of Revel. ITEM I give my son Revel Lewis one horse and one cow. ITEM I give unto my daughter Ludy Jones one cow and one bed now in her possession. The remainder of my personal estate not yet divided I leave to be equally divided between my three sons (viz) Absalom Lewis, Raymond Lewis and Revel Lewis. Absalom Lewis and Raymond Lewis were named executors. Signed: Absalom [his X mark] Lewis. Witnesses: Arthur Watson, Betsy Poulson, and Polly Watson. It was proved on 30 May 1814 by the oaths of Arthur Watson and Polly Watson witnesses. Absalom Lewis, one of the executors, and with Revel Lewis and George Russell his securities, entered into a bond of $5,000 and a certificate was granted to him for obtaining a probate thereof (Acc Co Wills & c., 1812-1814, pp. 421-422).

Tabitha(627) was the daughter of Mark Parks (I) and Tabitha Evans. Tabitha died 1835 at 70 years of age.(628) Tabitha was living 24 Nov 1775 in Accomack Co, VA.(629) According to the Mark C. Lewis files, William Lewis drowned in 1796.

child 80 ii. Absalom Lewis Jr.(630) was born circa 1770. Absalom died 1837 in Accomack Co, VA, at 67 years of age.(631) He married Mary 'Molly' Killmon 29 Jan 1789 in Accomack Co, VA.(632) Mary was born circa 1770. Mary(633) was the daughter of John Killmon and Elizabeth 'Betty' (-----). Mary died 1838 in Accomack Co, VA, at 68 years of age.(634) Mary's will was probated 10 Feb 1838 in Accomack Co, VA.(635)

Absalom was living in Hunting Creek, Acc Co, VA.(636) Absalom was employed. Absalom Lewis Jr. obtained a marriage license bond 28 Jan 1789 in Accomack Co, VA. Absalom was named in a deed in 1811 in Accomack Co, VA.(637) Absalom's will was probated 25 Sep 1837 in Accomack Co, VA.(638)

Revel's will was probated 29 May 1848 in Accomack Co, VA.(652) The Will of Revel Lewis, written 7 Jan 1848, specifies: ITEM To son Revel J. Lewis, 15 acres of land adjoining the lands of Jno. Spence on the south, and running northerly to a certain ditch and turn row, thence down the turn row to a certain marked pine, thence a straight course to the lands belonging to Absalom Lewis, by the said Revel J. Lewis paying to my daughter Elen $100 ITEM To my son John T. Lewis the balance of my land containing about 15 acres, beginning at the ditch and turn row, named as the boundary of Revel J. Lewis and running northerly to the lands of Absalom Lewis, by the said Jno. T. Lewis paying my daughter Permelia $100. Also to Jno. T. Lewis my store house. ITEM To my son Absalom Lewis $50 to be paid out of my estate. ITEM I lend to my wife Milly, one negro woman Wealthy, two first choice feather beds and furniture, one bureau, one walnut table, six cane bottom chairs, six winsor chairs, all of my crockery and chinaware, two cases and bottles, one candle stand, all of my iron ware and one cow and calf, and at her death, I give the above articles lent, to my five children, Elizer, Revel, Permelia, Jno and Elen, together with the balance of my estate after paying my debts. Executors: Son Absalom and James H. Fletcher. Witnessed: John H. Miles, Parker [his X mark] Miles, Geo. [his X mark] Crockett.
