He married Bettie Lee Poulson 1948.(4) Bettie was born 1 Jun 1930.⁽⁵⁾ Bettie⁽⁶⁾ was the daughter of O. Jennings Poulson and Alwilda 'Sissie' Marshall. Bettie died 27 Oct 1984 at 54 years of age.⁽⁷⁾

Nelson William McGee Sr. and Bettie Lee Poulson had the following children:
