Mary "Polly" Evans was born on Smith's Island, Maryland Hog Neck circa 1762. She was the daughter of Richard EVANS of John younger and Molly CROCKETT of Joseph. Mary "Polly" Evans of Richard died before 29 October 1832. On this date John Parks married Mary Phillips. On 13 August 1775 John Parks and Mary Evans had Charles PARKS of John in Somerset Co, MD (Jacob Parks' Plot, Deal's Island MD; Researched by Rebecca F. Miller, Princess Anne MD: Miller's Choice. On 25 May 1835 in Somerset Co, MD Hughard CROCKETT of Jesse bought 6 acres of "Old Field" on Smith's Island from John PARKS of Job Sr (Ibid., GH8 0-58:33). On 8 March 1840 in Somerset Co, MD Elijah EVANS of Elijah bought 12 acres called "Head of the Creek", on Smith's Island from John PARKS of Job Sr (Ibid., LHO-60:276). On 1 July 1840 in Somerset Co, MD James Harvey HOFFMAN of James bought lands situated on "Hog's Neck" from John PARKS of Job Sr (Ibid., LHO-60:378). Accomack County, Deeds, 1818-1819:185,187, Accomack County Deaths, 1853-1896 (The death of Zipporah Crockett). Rhoda Evans of Richard was born on Smith's Island, Maryland at Hog Neck circa 1767. She was the daughter of Richard EVANS of John and Molly CROCKETT of Joseph According to conflicting evidence, he married Rachel CROCKETT of Joseph Crockett circa 1785 (Crockett Family Charts and assorted information including wills, deeds, etc., circa 1955 Lewis, Mark C., deposited at the Eastern Shore Public Library, Accomac, VA.
