She married twice. She married JONATHAN TILNEY in Northampton Co VA, June 22, 1742. Bond dated 17 June 1742, "Thomas Marshall & Tho. Cable of Northampton Co. VA bound in 50 pounds obligatin: whereas lycense is this day issued for the Mariage of Jonathan Tilney and Sarah Marshall. Now if there be no lawful objection cause or hinder or obstruct the said Marriage then the above obligation to be void. JONATHAN was born. Shown between 12 and 16 years of age on 1720 Tithables List. (Vernon L. Skinner, Jr.) JONATHAN was the son of JOHN TILNEY (III).

JONATHAN died about 1742 in Northampton Co. VA. Court record of May 12, 1742, Northampton Co., VA: "Account of sale of the estates of Anne & Hezekiel Tilney Orphans was returned sworn to by Thomas Marshall, Gent., their guardian and orders to be recorded. Children of Jonathan and Sarah Marshall Tilney." (Gustave Anjou, The Tilney Family 1658-1902, p. 55)

She married ROBERT JAMES in Northampton Co., VA, June 5, 1751. (Nottingham, Marriage License Bonds of Northampton Co. VA 1706-1854) (ROBERT JAMES is #278.) ROBERT was the son of THOMAS JAMES.

ROBERT died 1759 in Northampton Co VA. (James H. Marshall, Wills & Admin. NH Co., p. 382) Robert James married 2nd Elizabeth Christian.

SARAH MARSHALL and ROBERT JAMES had the following children:

+ 79 i. THOMAS⁶ JAMES.

+ 80 ii. ROBERT JAMES was born before 1753.

SARAH MARSHALL and JONATHAN TILNEY had the following children:

81 iii. ANN TILNEY (#12038). ANN died before 1760.

82 iv. HEZEKIAH TILNEY (#274). Hezekiah was probably under age in 1760 when his grandfather, Thomas Marshall, called him "dear little grandson" in his will. (James H. Marshall, Wills & Admin. NH Co., p. 388) HEZEKIAH died 1776 in Worchester Co MD, at 33 years of age. (Ruth T. Dryden, Will Book JW4, p. 39) He married ELIZABETH ATKINSON. (ELIZABETH ATKINSON is #275.)

ELIZABETH was born April 8, 1739. ELIZABETH was the daughter of ANGELO ATKINSON and RACHEL LAWS.
