He married twice. He married Beatrix de Vermandois circa 885. Beatrix was born circa 865. Beatrix⁽¹⁰⁹⁷⁾ was the daughter of Herbert I Count of Vermandois Senlis etc. and Bertha de Morvois. He married Adele circa 890.⁽¹⁰⁹⁸⁾ Adele was born circa 865.

Robert I King of France and Beatrix de Vermandois had the following child:
