He married Bertha de Morvois circa 860.⁽¹¹⁷⁴⁾ Bertha was born circa 840.

Herbert I Count of Vermandois, Senlis, etc. and Bertha de Morvois had the following children:

+ 287 i. Beatrix de Vermandois²⁵ was born circa 865.

+ 292 ii. Herbert II Count of Vermandois & Troyes was born 880-890.⁽¹¹⁷⁵⁾
