He married Ermengarde of Lorraine 846.⁽¹²³⁹⁾ Ermengarde was born circa 825. Ermengarde⁽¹²⁴⁰⁾ was the daughter of Lothair I King of Italy Emperor of the West and Ermengarde.

Count Giselbert and Ermengarde of Lorraine had the following child:
