231. PEGGY SPENCE⁵ PURNELL (BENJAMIN⁴, MATTHEW³, THOMAS², THOMAS¹) was born in Worcester Co., MD January 5, 1789.

She married CHARLES BENNETT (Jr.). In April Court 1807 Worcester Co., MD, Charles Benett, Jr. and wife Peggy stated that they had received full amount of wife's estate left to her by her father Benjamin. (transcribed by Susan Hurley, Ocean City Lifesaving Museum) Peggy and Charles' children were named in the will of her mother, Sarah. (dob-Melanie Ayres Merryweather, Genealogy of the Purnell Family, p. 21)
