He married ELIZA E. (wife of George W. Purnell). ELIZA was born about 1821. George was in Worcester for the 1850 census and moved to New Orleans by 1860, where he practiced medicine. (Matthew Wise, The Littleton Heritage, p. 422; 1850 Census)

GEORGE WASHINGTON PURNELL (Jr.)(Dr.) and ELIZA E. (wife of George W. Purnell) had the following children:

674 ii. LAVINIA E. PURNELL was born in Worcester Co., MD about 1848.

675 iii. JAMES F. PURNELL was born in Worcester Co., MD about 1849. He married twice. He married MARY E. DENNIS in Worcester Co., MD, February 27, 1872. MARY died before 1889. He married HESTER HAMMOND in Worcester Co., MD, October 6, 1889.
