78. THOMAS⁴ PURNELL (WALTON³, THOMAS², THOMAS¹) was born in Worcester Co., MD before August 15, 1755. THOMAS died 1831 in Worcester Co., MD, at 75 years of age.

He married MARY PURNELL. MARY was born in Worcester Co., MD before 1772. MARY was the daughter of THOMAS PURNELL (of Sinepuxent) and COMFORT PURNELL.

He made a will in Worcester Co., MD, July 9, 1831. (Ruth T. Dryden, Worcester Co. MD Wills MH 1822-1833, p. 39)

THOMAS's will was probated in Worcester Co., MD, November 15, 1831. A Catherine Wildman bequeathed to him money from rents of her Snow Hill properties in her will dated August 19, 1755. He owned land at "Venture" and "Poplar Neck." He named two of his children in his will, daughter Elizabeth and son William; friends John L. Purnell and John Mitchell were executors.

THOMAS PURNELL and MARY PURNELL had the following children:

271 ii. THOMAS PURNELL. He married CHARLOTTE CUMMINGS.

272 iii. WILLIAM PURNELL (Dr.). He was named in his father's will.

273 iv. ELIZABETH WALTON PURNELL. She married WILLIAM HOLLAND. She was named in her father's will. (marriage-Suzanne B. Hurley, Ocean City Lifesaving Museum)
