He made a will in Worcester Co., MD, January 20, 1765. ELIJAH's will was probated in Worcester Co., MD, March 15, 1765. Elijah named his children in his will. To his wife he left dwelling plantation; son Samuel dwelling plantation after wife's widowhood and land on the west side of the road from the ferry to Cedar Hall; son Thomas land on east side of road; daughters Mary and Ann, Negro woman Lindow; children Elijah and Susea, Negro girl Frank; daughter Sarah, Negro girl Rachell; daughter Betty, Negro girl Pachance; daughter Leah, Negro girl Hannah; daughter Joyce Purnell Brittingham, Negro boy Durrum; son Samuel executor; witnessed by George Layfield, Joshua Merrill and William Merrill.
