130. JOSHUA⁵ STURGIS (OUTTEN⁴, JONATHAN³, JOHN², JOHN¹) birth date unknown. JOSHUA died before 1798.

He married JOANNA GUY about 1790. Joshua of Outten was a Private in the Worcester Militia, Wicomico Battalion, Capt. Fisher Walton's Company, 6th Class, on July 15, 1780, during the Revolution. (Henry C. Peden, Jr., Revolutionary Patriots of Worcester & Somerset Counties, Willow Bend Books, Westminster, MD, 1999) He was named in his grandmother, Martha Selby's, will of 1780. He purchased 295 acres "Kings Neck" from his parents in 1790 and in 1796 bought 39 more acres from George Turner. (Ruth T. Dryden, Worcester Land Records, p. 346)

JOSHUA STURGIS and JOANNA GUY had the following children:

200 i. SALLY⁶ STURGIS was born 1791.

201 ii. LEAH STURGIS was born about 1793. Probably died prior to 1802.

202 iii. NANCY STURGIS was born 1796.
