He married RACHEL (wife of Joshua Sturgis). He is cited in the will of his brother, John. He is most
probably the Joshua Sturgis Sr. living in Wicomico Hundred, Worcester, in 1783. Also probably the Joshua Sr. who was a Revolutionary
Patriot. He bought "Safeguard" from David Cathell as Joshua Sturgis of John in 1774. In 1783 he is shown with tracts "Addition" in
Wicomico Hundred, Somerset, "Safeguard," and "Manor Land." 3M, 5F.

Goodwill," and "Winder's Addition."
