148. Thomas Monteagle⁶ Bayly (Col.) (Thomas⁵, Edmund⁴ Bayley, Hannah³ Scarburgh, Ursula² Whittington, William¹) was born in Accomack Co., VA March 26, 1775. Thomas died January 7, 1834 in Accomack Co., VA, at 58 years of age. (Whitelaw)

He married twice. He married Margaret Pettit Cropper in Accomack Co., VA, March 24, 1802. Margaret was born in Accomack Co., VA May 15, 1784. Margaret was the daughter of John Cropper(Gen.) and Margaret Pettit. Margaret died December 3, 1824 in Accomack Co., VA, at 40 years of age. He married Jane Oakley Coward in Accomack Co., VA, December 21, 1826. Jane was born about 1795. Jane was the daughter of Samuel Coward and Margaret Scarburgh. Jane died 1888 in Richmond, VA, at 93 years of age. Of "Mount Custis." (Ralph Whitelaw, Virginia's Eastern Shore, p982)

356 i. Henry Custis⁷ Bayly was born in Accomack Co., VA December 26, 1802. Henry died October 8, 1821 in Accomack Co., VA, at 18 years of age.

357 ii. Thomas Henry Bayly(Judge) was born in Accomack Co., VA October 11, 1810. (Matthew Wise, The Littleton Heritage, p. 231) Thomas died June 22, 1856 at 45 years of age. He married Mary Harrison May. Mary was the daughter of John Fitzhugh May and Margaret Field. He was a judge and congressman. (Whitelaw, p. 1062)

358 iii. Ann Drummond Bayly was born 1811. Ann died November 28, 1841 at 30 years of age. She married Benjamin M. Miller(Rev.) in Accomack Co., VA, November 11, 1840. (Matthew Wise, "The Littleton Heritage."

359 iv. Sally Cropper Bayly was born December 22, 1813. Sally died January 1, 1857 at 43 years of age. She married Peter F. Browne in Accomack Co., VA, November 11, 1839. Peter was born in Williamsburg, VA November 6, 1813. Peter was the son of John Eaton Browne and Elizabeth Ann Applewaite. (notes of M.K. Miles) (Matthew Wise, The Littleton Family)

360 v. Elizabeth Wharton Bayly was born in Accomack Co., VA December 6, 1815. Elizabeth died November 22, 1885 at 69 years of age. She married Samuel Melvin. (Matthew Wise, The Littleton Heritage) Her descendants are continued in "The Littleton Heritage."

361 vi. Margaret Pettit Bayly was born June 15, 1818. Margaret died March 18, 1856 at 37 years of age. She married James W. Custis in Accomack Co., VA, October 27, 1840. James was born in Accomack Co., VA April 11, 1811. James died August 4, 1878 at 67 years of age. James is buried at the Old Custis tract, Deep Creek, Accomack Co., VA (Mihalyka & Wilson, Graven Stones) (Matthew Wise, The Littleton Heritage) Margaret's descendants can be found in "The Littleton Heritage."

362 vii. William Pettit Bayly was born in Accomack Co., VA June 14, 1820. William died August 26, 1848 at 28 years of age. He married Elizabeth C. Parramore in Accomack Co., VA, December 2, 1847. Elizabeth was born April 10, 1828. Elizabeth was the daughter of William R. Parramore and Elizabeth Cassie Custis. Elizabeth died February 6, 1884 at 55 years of age. Will dated August 25, 1848, probated October 9, 1848.

363 viii. Samuel T. Bayly was born in Accomack Co., VA about 1827. Samuel was in Richmond, VA in 1853. (Whitelaw)

364 ix. Jane Oakley Addison Bayly was born in Accomack Co., VA about 1828. She married Emsley G. Higginbotham in Richmond, VA, February 24, 1847.

365 x. Rosa F. Bayly was born in Accomack Co., VA about 1829. Rosa was in Richmond, VA in 1853. (Whitelaw)
