Mayonnaise Bread


2 cups self - rising flour
1 cup milk
1/4 cup plus 2 Tbsp. mayonnaise
2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
1/2 teaspoon yellow cornmeal.

Combine flour, milk, and mayonnaise in a bowl, stirring just until dry ingredients are moistened. Grease a 10 inch cast - iron skillet with oil; place in a 400 degree oven for 4 minutes or until hot. Remove from oven; sprinkle with cornmeal. Spoon batter evenly into skillet. Bake at 400 degrees for 25 minutes or until lightly browned. 6 to 8 servings
