The Central Accounting Department
Information Technology

The Information Technology Division supports the county's network that includes PC's, servers, and an IBM i5.  The role of the division includes assuring appropriate infrastructure availability to support user's needs. 

Until recently, the county's network consisted of the Administration Building and was integrated with the school system's network for email and internet access.  With the connection of remote county sites, the networks are now being separated to improve security at the cost of increased complexity.

Recent Projects of the Division include:

  • Upgrades to the Cashier System in the Treasurer's Office to improve delinquent tax collections and to enhance the revenue posting process.
  • Add new servers to increase hard drive space
  • Live streaming/recording of audio from meetings

Current projects of the division include
  • Property Tax Billing Migration Project (RBS)
  • Improvements to the network infrastructure to allow implementation of a VoIP telephone system.
  • Implementation of software to allow user inquiry into the financial system.
