Call for Entries 500 Silver Jewelry Designs
From: Marthe Le Van, Senior Editor, Jewelry & Metals
Lark Books seeks images to publish in a juried collection of
international studio jewelry. "500 Silver Jewelry Designs," juried by
Talya Baharal, is a 420-page, full color survey of contemporary
jewelers prominently featuring silver in their designs. This
international collection will be beautifully presented and widely
distributed throughout the world.
All jewelry forms, such as rings, bracelets, necklaces, earrings,
and brooches are welcome. Materials other than silver, such as
stones, other metals, or alternative materials, may be included, but
silver must be the focus and should occupy roughly 80% of the piece.
All design styles are welcome.
Jewelers whose work is selected for inclusion will receive full
acknowledgment within the book, a complimentary copy, and discounts
on the future purchase of books. Artists retain copyright to their
work. Lark accepts high-quality digital images, transparencies, and

Want to write a Step-by-Step Article about working in gold?
Please consider submitting a step-by-step project articles to Rock & Gem. It would be a great way to advertise our organization and your work, especially if you are teacher a class. More basic gold-working tips and techniques would be most appropriate for our lapidary readers, who might use gold as a setting for their stone cabochons or faceted gems; you would not have to worry about giving away the detailed coursework they would cover in a two- to three-day class.
Rock & Gem pays $275 for an 800- to 1,000-word article accompanied by 10 to 15 clear, close up photos with informative, full-sentence captions. A brief author bio may be included that describes the author's affinity with FSG.
Rock & Gem has two gold-themed issues per year--January and July--for which a gold-working would be particularly appropriate. Copy deadlines are three months in advance of the issue date (October 1 for January; April 1 for July).
Any interested writer should contact Lynn Varon, managing editor, to get a copy of their writers' guidelines, as well as a Contributor Agreement and W-9 form.
