2. Ursula2 Whittington (William1) birth date unknown. Ursula died about 1681.

She married Edmund Scarburgh (Capt.). Edmund was born in Accomack Co., VA about 1647. Edmund was the son of Edmond Scarburgh(II) (Col.) and Mary (wife of Edmond Scarburgh. Edmund died before February 5, 1712 in Accomack Co., VA, at approximately 64 years of age. Edmund was surveyor and justice of Accomack County and sheriff in 1680. He was Lieutenant Colonel of the militia and surveyor of both Accomack and Northampton Counties in 1699. He deposed October 28, 1675 he was aged 26. Will dated May 21, 1711, probate February 5, 1712. (Myers & Dorman, Adventures of Purse & Person, pp. 547-8) It is believed that Ursula was the daughter of William Whittington and that she was the mother of four of Edmund Scarburgh's children. Whitelaw states that Ursula did not have children to succeed land, as her brother, Col. William Whittington gained possession. Ursula Whittington and Edmund Scarburgh(Capt.) had the following children:

child 6 ii. Elizabeth Scarburgh. She married (N) Duey before January 6, 1713-14. (N) died before 1719. (Myers & Dorman, Purse & Person, p. 548)

child 7 iii. Edmund Scarburgh(the elder). Edmund died before July 6, 1714 in Accomack Co., VA. Was justice of Accomack County in 1714. (Myers & Dorman, Purse & Person, p. 548)

child + 8 iv. Hannah Scarburgh was born about 1680.
