Herb Bread


3 cups all - purpose flour
2 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
2 teaspoons caraway seeds
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon dried whole thyme
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 egg, beaten
1 1/2 cups milk
1/2 cup vegetable oil

Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and seasonings in a large mixing bowl; stir well. Combine remaining ingredients; add to dry ingredients, stirring just until moistened. Spoon into a greased and floured 8 1/2 - x 4 1/2 - x 3 - inch loafpan; bake at 350 degrees for 50 to 55 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.
