 USS Nautilus SSN 571

 The USS Nautilus was built in 1954 and was the world's first nuclear propelled vessel. The Nautilus was the first submarine to pass under the Artic ice cap and cross under the North Pole.

 

 USS Ohio SSBN 726

 The USS Ohio was completed in 1981 and was our first Trident missile boat. The Ohio's were planed as replacements for the older Poseidon missle subs built in the 1960's and 70's.

 

 

 The USS Ben Franklin was completed in 1965 and was at first fitted with Polaris and later with Posiden and Trident missiles. Later in her career she had her missiles removed and she was fitted out for use as a special operations unit.
