163. Jeffrey^M Minshall Sr. was born in England circa 1620. Jeffrey died 8 Apr 1675 in Morumsco Section, Som Co, MD, at 54 years of age.⁽⁹⁸⁸⁾ His body was interred in Morumsco Section, Som Co, MD.⁽⁹⁸⁹⁾

He married Frances Carsley 18 May 1650 in Northampton Co, VA.(990) Frances was born circa 1624 in Virginia. Frances⁽⁹⁹¹⁾ was the daughter of Henry Carsley and Elizabeth Berriman. Frances died after 1678/9 in Somerset Co, MD. Frances was living after 1665/6 in Morumsco, Som Co, MD.

Jeffrey was living October 1651 in Northampton Co, VA.⁽⁹⁹²⁾ Jeffrey was named in a deed in 12 Apr 1666 in Somerset Co, MD.⁽⁹⁹³⁾ According to Torrence, Jeffrey Minshall (d. 1675), of Northampton Co, VA, and Somerset Co, MD, no doubt derived descent from the Minshull, or Minshall, family of Cheshire and Devonshire, England, though as yet the connection has not been worked out and proved. The Visitation of Devonshire, 1620 (Harlein Soc. Pubs., VI, p. 184) gives a Minshull pedigree in which the names "Jefferie" and "Geoffrey" and "Randall" appear. The first edition of "The Boston Family of Maryland" by Matthew M. Wise, indicated that Jeffery was the son of a Richard Minshall and was baptised at Wistaston, County Chester, England, 26 Mar 1621. However, in Wise's second edition, he indicated that was a different Jeffery Minshall and that the pedigree of this Jeffery Minshall is still in question. He came to Virginia before 1645, when he was mentioned in a Northampton Co court record, and by 17 Sep 1666, with his wife and five children, had immigrated to Maryland where, on that date, he was assigned 400 acres called "Adventure," lying at the head of Marumsco Creek in Somerset Co. "Jeffry Mentiale" (Jeffery Minshall, Sr.) entered rights for land in Somerset Co, MD, 12 Apr 1666, viz: Jeffrey and Frances (evidently himself and his wife), Mary, Anne and Jane, his daughters; Jeffrey and Randall, his sons; and Wm. Collett, his servant. Jeffry Mentiale patented (on these rights) 400 acres of land at the head of Morummsco Branch.

Jeffrey Minshall Sr. and Frances Carsley had the following children:

165 iii. Anne Minshall⁽⁹⁹⁸⁾ was born in Northampton Co, VA circa 1654.

166 iv. Elizabeth Minshall⁽⁹⁹⁹⁾ was born in Northampton Co, VA circa 1656. Her body was interred 23 Nov 1660 in Hungars Parish, N'hamp Co, VA.⁽¹⁰⁰⁰⁾

167 v. Jeffrey Minshall Jr.⁽¹⁰⁰¹⁾ was born in Northampton Co, VA circa 1658.

168 vi. Randall Minshall⁽¹⁰⁰²⁾ was born in Northampton Co, VA circa 1660.

169 vii. Alice Minshall⁽¹⁰⁰³⁾ was born in Somerset Co, MD 27 Dec 1668.⁽¹⁰⁰⁴⁾

170 viii. Elizabeth Minshall⁽¹⁰⁰⁵⁾ was born in Somerset Co, MD 28 Dec 1668.⁽¹⁰⁰⁶⁾
