He married HESTER ANN WELBOURNE December 22, 1830. (HESTER ANN WELBOURNE is #338.) HESTER was born 1809. (research of James H. Marshall)

JOHN D. MARSHALL and HESTER ANN WELBOURNE had the following children:

455 i. ?SALLIE⁸ MARSHALL (#15919). She married ERASTUS S. DASHIELL (Dr.). (ERASTUS S. DASHIELL (Dr.) is #15920.) A Sallie Marshall Dashiell inherited land in Snow Hill from her father, John D. Marshall in 1868. This Sallie is shown as daughter of John Drummond Marshall only because the name and date of death matches.

Sallie and Erastus took a $1,000 mortgage with Zadock P. Wharton in June of 1894 to build the house at the foot of West Federal Street at West Market Street in Snow Hill. (Paul B. Touart, Along the Seaboard Side, p. 360)

457 iii. SUSAN ANN MARSHALL (#352) was born 1835. She married SOLLY JOHNSON. (SOLLY JOHNSON is #353.)

458 iv. HESTER DRUMMOND MARSHALL (#354) was born 1841. HESTER died 1841 at less than one year of age.

459 v. JOHN D. MARSHALL (#355) was born 1845. JOHN died 1846 at 1 year of age.
