283. CUSTIS⁶ KENDALL (MJR.) (SORROWFUL MARGARET⁵ CUSTIS, MARGARET⁴ MICHAEL, ELIZABETH³ THOROWGOOD, ADAM², WILLIAM¹) was born in Northampton Co., VA 1708. CUSTIS died before September 11, 1781 in Northampton Co., VA, at approximately 73 years of age.

He married twice. He married ANN UPSHUR 1734. ANN was the daughter of ARTHUR UPSHUR (Jr.) and SARAH BROWNE. ANN died before 1738. Ann was not named in her father's will dated May 26, 1738. Her father did name her three children: Hancock & Susanna Custis and William Kendall, calling them grandchildren.

He married ELIZABETH BOWDOIN in Northampton Co., VA, April 9, 1746. ELIZABETH was the daughter of PETER BOWDOIN and GRACE ADAH HARMANSON. ELIZABETH died after 1746.

CUSTIS KENDALL (Mjr.) and ELIZABETH BOWDOIN had the following children:

+ 506 i. JOHN⁷ KENDALL.

507 ii. CUSTIS KENDALL (Jr.). CUSTIS died 1813. He married SUSANNA GORE. SUSANNA was the daughter of DANIEL GORE and SUSANNA TEACKLE. SUSANNA died after 1770.

508 iii. SORROWFUL MARGARET KENDALL. Died as an infant.

509 iv. LITTLETON KENDALL. LITTLETON died 1813. He married SARAH REED.

510 v. ADAH KENDALL. ADAH died after 1802.

+ 511 vi. BOWDOIN KENDALL .

512 vii. MARGARET KENDALL. MARGARET died before April 12, 1802 in Northampton Co., VA.

+ 513 viii. SON KENDALL .

514 ix. GEORGE KENDALL was born Northampton Co., NC 1759. GEORGE died November 24, 1784 at 25 years of age.

515 x. PETER KENDALL was born in Northampton Co., VA 1768. PETER died before June 12, 1787 in Northampton Co., VA, at approximately 18 years of age.

CUSTIS KENDALL (Mjr.) and ANN UPSHUR had the following child:
