118. ZADOCK⁵ PURNELL (SENATOR) (THOMAS⁴, JOHN³, THOMAS², THOMAS¹) was born 1764. ZADOCK died May 31, 1828 in Worcester Co., MD, at 63 years of age. (John S. Purnell Bible records at MHS give his date of death and that he was age 64 at that time-notes of Vernon L. Skinner)

He married SARAH "SALLY" ATKINSON. (notes of Suzanne B. Hurley, Ocean City Lifesaving Museum) SARAH was the daughter of MILBY ATKINSON and DAUGHTER PURNELL. Named granddaughter by Thomas & Mary Purnell. It is NOT proved that this is the same Sarah "Sally" Atkinson who married Zadock Purnell. Zadock received "Genezar" and "Pleasant" from his father. He also owned land at "Purnells Grove." (Ruth T. Dryden, Worcester Land Records) Zadock purchased much of the land left by his Uncle Zadock's estate to various heirs and in one such purchase is referred to as Senator. (Ruth T. Dryden, Worcester Land Records) Zadock also owned "Watermelon Point Farm."

ZADOCK PURNELL (Senator) and SARAH "SALLY" ATKINSON had the following child:
