MANY THANKS to all the ghotes and friends who provided information to help track down some of these Purnells. My appreciation especially to
Sue Hurley at the Ocean City Lifesaving Museum, Melanie A. Merryweather, my new-found cousin, Trian Koutoufaris, Vern Skinner and Gayle
Walczyk. There are many Purnells that are not yet connected and others not located. If you have any information to further indentify
individuals, connecting lines and corrections, please contact me.
This journal covers the first seven generations and my hope is
that is provides researchers with a good starting place. There are several Purnell lines which continue in Matt Wise's "The Littleton
Heritage," and these are so marked.
To differentiate the separate families with the same surname: Marshall refers to the
Northampton family; Marshall* is the Accomack family; and Marshall** is the Bayside/Somerset family.
