She married twice. She married JOHN PURNELL. JOHN was born in Somerset Co., MD March 31, 1725. JOHN was the son of THOMAS PURNELL (III) and MARY OUTTEN. JOHN died March 30, 1758 in Worcester Co., MD, at 32 years of age. John owned tracts "Brandt Pond," "Boys," "Point Lookout" and "Muddy Branch." Land records for "Mt. Ephraim" show John and wife Zipporah sold the land to his father, Thomas. (Ruth T. Dryden, Worcester Land Records). In "Genealogy of the Purnell Family" by Melanie Merryweather, he is called Captain. His wife, Zipporah married second John Rackliffe. (dates-Merryweather, Genealogy of the Purnell Family, p.15)
She married JOHN RACKLIFF in Worcester Co., MD, before November 15, 1759. John named his daughter Sally Fassitt and deceased daughter Catherine White. He named grandchildren Thomas Fassitt, Zipporah Fassitt and Sally White. Her father left her "Bowens Choice" and "Deep Swamp."
