He married MARY DIXON. MARY was the daughter of THOMAS DIXON and SARAH BEAUCHAMP. Her father left her 20 shillings 'along with what she already posessess.' (her parents - Woodrow T. Wilson, 34 Families of Somerset Co.) (marriage-Melanie Ayres Merryweather, Genealogy of the Purnell Family)

204 ii. SARAH PURNELL. Sarah was named as a child of Levi in her grandfather, Matthew Purnell's 1760 will. She was named granddaughter in the will of Sarah Dixon in 1750 and called daughter of Levi. (Ruth T. Dryden, Somerset Co., MD Wills 1750-1772 f.1, p.1)

+ 205 iii. LEVI PURNELL (Jr.) was born about 1752.
