22. HEZEKIA³ PURNELL (JOHN², THOMAS¹) birth date unknown. HEZEKIA died 1768 in Worcester Co., MD.

He married SARAH (wife of Hezekia Purnell). His father left him "Purnells Exchange," "Pharsalia," and "Piny Island." Hezekiah and Sarah Purnell sold two acres of "Pharsalia in 1750 and he sold two acres in 1765. (Ruth T. Dryden, Worcester Land Records)

Hezekia died without a will. The names of his children are not known or proved. A John Purnell, son of Hezekia, took the Oath of Allegiance in Worcester County in 1778. (Henry C. Peden, Jr., Revolutionary Patriots of Worcester & Somerset Cos. MD, Willow Bend, Westminster, MD, 1999, p. 238) Hezekia, son of John and Martha, is the only Purnell of that given name found in the Mattapony family.

Administration account for Hezekiah Purnell in 1770 shows Sarah P. as administrator and cites seven children, but does not give their names. (Adm. Accouts Liber 76, folio 159 researched by Vernon Skinner)
