65. WILLIAM⁴ PURNELL (MATTHEW³, THOMAS², THOMAS¹) was born in Worcester Co., MD about 1745. WILLIAM died 1781 in Worcester Co., MD, at 36 years of age.

He married twice. He married SARAH RACKLIFF. He married MARY SIMPSON. MARY died 1787 in Worcester Co., MD. She made a will in Worcester Co., MD, May 30, 1787. She named son Rouse Purnell, underage; son John Fassitt executor; son Thomas S. Fassitt; daughter Sophia Miller. Witnesses: Thomas Niember (dec'd), Ebenezer Townsend and Ezekiel Davis. (Vernon L. MARY's will was probated in Worcester Co., MD, June 19, 1787.

He made a will in Worcester Co., MD, August 7, 1780. (Ruth T. Dryden, Worcester Co., MD Wills JW4, p. 53)

WILLIAM's will was probated in Worcester Co., MD, January 5, 1781. He was named in his father's will. William named his sons, John and Rouse, and brothers Elisha and Matthew, and Martha, daughter of his brother, John.

WILLIAM PURNELL and MARY SIMPSON had the following children:

233 i. THOMAS⁵ PURNELL. Thomas was named in his father's will; but not in the will of Mary Purnell.

+ 234 ii. ROUSE FASSITT PURNELL was born after 1766.

WILLIAM PURNELL and SARAH RACKLIFF had the following child:
