325. ELIJAH5 BRITTINGHAM (SR,) (TABITHA4 NEWBOLD, JOYCE3 PURNELL, JOHN2, THOMAS1) was born 1763. ELIJAH died 1798 in Worcester Co., MD, at 35 years of age. Administration of estate March 9, 1798, inventory filed May 4, 1798, security by John Gibbs and Thomas Dryden. Widow Elizabeth and brother Isaac were granted administration of the estate. Levin Powell and Anna Houston were named next of kin. He married ELIZABETH (wife of Elijah Brittingham). ELIZABETH died about 1808. Shown on 1783 tax list as "young man" with John Huston as security, Pitts Creek Hundred. (research of Joanie Gibson)

child 598 ii. PURNELL BRITTINGHAM was born in Worcester Co., MD 1789. PURNELL died after 1850. On August 23, 1803, Purnell, orphan of Elijah, was apprenticed to Benjamin Gunby to learn the trade of a farmer and miller. He was ennumerated next door to his brother, Nathaniel, in 1850 census. child 599 iii. ELIJAH BRITTINGHAM (Jr.) was born in Worcester Co., MD 1794. ELIJAH died December 17, 1871 in Baldwin Co., GA, at 77 years of age.
