597. NATHANIEL⁶ BRITTINGHAM (ELIJAH⁵, TABITHA⁴ NEWBOLD, JOYCE³ PURNELL, JOHN², THOMAS¹) was born in Worcester Co., MD about 1787. NATHANIEL died May 3, 1864 at 76 years of age.

He married SUSAN (SNEAD). SUSAN was born about 1803. SUSAN died after 1850. In 1802 he was indentured to Elijah Nelson to learn the art of blacksmithing. He was ennumerated in 1850 census, age 64, wife Susan 47; in his household: Permilia Blades 5, Mahala Blades 2 and Erastus Blades 22. (research of Joanie Gibson)

NATHANIEL BRITTINGHAM and SUSAN (SNEAD) had the following children:

891 i. ELIJAH⁷ BRITTINGHAM was born in Worcester Co., MD 1810. He married twice. He married JULIA CATLIN in Worcester Co., MD, September 30, 1828. He married MARY ELIZABETH PRUITT October 13, 1848.

+ 892 ii. NATHANIEL BRITTINGHAM (Jr.) was born about 1815.

893 iii. LEMUEL BRITTINGHAM was born 1825. LEMUEL died 1863 at 38 years of age. He married CHARLOTTE PRUITT in Worcester Co., MD, February 13, 1849. CHARLOTTE died February, 1918.
