519. IRVING⁶ SPENCE (ANN NANCY⁵ PURNELL, LEMUEL⁴, ELISHA³, THOMAS², THOMAS¹) was born in Worcester Co., MD November 19, 1799. IRVING died January 11, 1836 in Worcester Co., MD, at 36 years of age.

He married MARGARET S. ROBINS in Worcester Co., MD, February 20, 1822. MARGARET was born in Worcester Co., MD May 11, 1801. MARGARET was the daughter of JAMES BOWDOIN ROBINS (Judge) and ELIZABETH HORSEY. MARGARET died March 6, 1862 in Worcester Co., MD, at 60 years of age. He farmed in the 2nd District and was admitted to the bar in 1820 at Snow Hill and later at Princess Anne. He was a delegate to the State Legislature in 1822 and in 1826 appointed to the State Senate for six years. He was an Elder at the Presbyterian Church at Snow Hill. In 1838, he published a book, "Letters on the Early History of the Presbyterian Church in America." Will dated January 1, 1836, probate February 11, 1836. 825 ii. JAMES P. R. SPENCE was born in Worcester Co., MD October 14, 1824. JAMES died October 2, 1826 in Worcester Co., MD, at 1 year of age.

826 iii. ARA SPENCE (Dr.) was born in Worcester Co., MD about 1825. ARA died after 1860.

+ 827 iv. IRVING SPENCE was born April 10, 1828.

828 v. JAMES B. SPENCE was born in Worcester Co., MD October 14, 1830. JAMES died October 2, 1836 at 5 years of age.

829 vi. JOHN SPENCE was born about 1831.

830 vii. JAMES SPENCE was born about 1836.
