the daughter of JOHN E. HAYWARD and MARGARET (wife of John E. Hayward). HARRIET died July 20, 1853 in Worcester Co.,

He married VIRGINIA ELIZABETH HUMPHREYS in Worcester Co., MD, January 28, 1864. VIRGINIA was
born January 17, 1835. VIRGINIA was the daughter of CATHELL HUMPHREYS and LEAH (wife of Cathell Humphreys). VIRGINIA

WILLIAM UNDRILL PURNELL and ELEANOR HORSEY ROBINS. JAMES died March 7, 1909 in Worcester Co., MD, at 79 years of
age. His body was interred in Worcester Co., MD, All Hallows. He is shown as a doctor, living in a hotel, age 29, in 1850
census of Worcester Co., MD. Ft. Chessid Purnell is the same hotel. James had two children who died in childhood; see Melanie Ayres
