Wish to locate will of Rev. John Holbrook who died 1746, Northhampton Co., VA His wife was Jane Smith. d/o Samuel Smith; she also had a brother John: (1742 Court Record) Rev. John was sent by the Church of England first to NJ, then for several years he petitioned for permission to be assigned in Virginia.
Name: John Holbrook Destination: New Jersey Date: 13 Dec 1723 Source: Money Book, 30-168 A List of Emigrant Ministers to America; How Pedigrees Are Traced.
Before I make a trip, I want to make sure it really is Northhampton Co., and not "North Hampton" Virginia.
This ad was placed in 1746 by his brother Edward, whom I believe to be my ancestor:
'REV. JOHN HOLBROOK & E(DWARD) HOLBROOK ADVERTISEMENT 1746 VIRGINIA

I'm looking for the descendents of Captain John Wilcox and Ann Custis. I’ve been researching my Wilcox/Bolling/Hubard lines and think that my ancestors may connect to this couple.
I do not have all my data with me at the moment but I’ll try to briefly give you what I can remember. My 4th g grandfather was Edmund Wilcox who married Susanna Watson Bolling (2nd wife of Robert Bolling of Chellowe, the g grandson of John Rolfe and Pocahontas)Robert Bollling was married 1st to Mary Burton from Accomack. Edmund Wilcox, MD was born in 1740 and died in 1785. His father, Captain John Wilcox, lived in Middlesex, Va. /possible born in Rotterdam, and I have not yet found his birth date but according to the family letters, it appears he died in about 1756. I did find one record in the Wm. & Mary periodicals which states that a Captain John Wilcox m. Ann Jenings in 1731. Edmund had an older brother, John, who died of smallpox and attended Middle Temple in England. He also had a sister Frances who married Philip Rootes from Rosewell Plantation in Middlesex, Va.
From one of the history research books I have at home, I found a note which mentions that Edmund Wilcox’s father, Captain John Wilcox, may have been from the Captain John Wilcox and Ann Custis family of 1622 recently from Accomack/Maryland to Jamestown. It’s not much to go on. There are a number of letters to Captain John Wilcox from Sydenham and Hodgson then Russell in London who were merchants, etc. for Captain John Wilcox. Some of these letters mention that a Mrs. Grey and Captain Grey, pulling money from his accounts. It appears that there may be a family connection to the Grey’s and to Mr. Sydenham. Another family letter appears to be from Edmund Jenings, possible Governor of Va., which requests that Edmund Wilcox return his mothers belonging to James Russell. I cannot find any proof that the Ann Jenings, mother of Edmund, was of this line. If she is, it looks as if it is an undocumented line.
I have another letter which is from Ralph Wormeley (also from Middlesex) which has a postscript attached requesting that Edmund give his regards to Mr. and Mrs. Corbin and Mr. and Mrs. Taylor, which he plans on visiting in the near future. I have another letter written in the 1700’s which is from a Mr. Frances Christian who is living in one of the homes of Edmund Wilcox, but he’s tells him he’s leaving and going to their mountain home in Urbanna called Cornwall. I have a number of letters from Rich Henry Lee and other notable families from that time period, but I still cannot find proof of a connection. All the letters from the 1700’s were written in such a formal manner that it is difficult to determine if they are from family members or not.
Some of the names in these letters are as follows:
Carter Braxton, James Blair, William Nichols, Thomas Nelson, William Rawlins, Benjamin Kenton, Joseph Eaton, Cole Corbin, Armistead Churchill, Ralph Wormely, Capt. Neaton, Joseph Hougland, John Jones, Captain Richardson, Robert Ross, John Miller, Captain Nicholas, John Arlington, Frances Christian, Captain Grey, William Davidson of Rotterdam, Maximillion Robinson, Robert Jackson, Rob Curry, Richard Milnor, Captain Anderson, Robert Jackson, Ambrose Jones, Huge Rose, Captain John Lee, Charles Graham, Clem. Nicholson, William Jordan, In. Plowman, Captain Ben Smith, John Gilchrest, Robert Elliott, Robert Ried, Captain Ben Smith, William Davidson, Mr. Foster, Jos. Richardson, Archibald Ritchie, Rich. Henry Lee, Thornton Cox, William Wilson, John Turnshall, James Mills, John Buckhannon, Captain Mills, William Williams, George Seaton, Peter Garvin, Frances Christian, Watson’s, Perkins, Agee, Moffett, Cartwright, Guy Smith, James Jordan, William Moulsen, Fellows, Captain Chivahan, Robert Freeland, James King, Captain Wilmer, Ben Wallen, Thomas Griffith, William Loving, Joseph Dillard, Lunsford Lomac, Zach. Taliaferro, Frances Baker, Cabel, John Digges, Cary, Captain Johanders, Col. Taylor, etc.
If anyone has additional information or has knowledge of these family surnames, I would greatly appreciate any help.
Sincerely,
Page

Is any one familiar with a Vickroy family that is supposedly from the Eastern Shore...one reference: Kent, Delaware. A second reference was one of the southern Eastern Shore counties. A Thomas Vickroy was Silversmith in Bedford town, Bedford County, PA. 1796 tax lists, a Thomas Vickroy was a surveyor of early Western PA. He was also in Bedford and may be the same person as the silversmith. He surveyed Pittsburgh, PA. A William Vickory was a clock maker in Bedford town, Bedford County, PA, and a Nathan Victory, no occupation.
My ancestor, John Henry Wise(born 1763) was a silversmith in Bedford town, Bedford County, Pa who then went to Greensburg, Westmoreland County, PA. He was in the 1790 census of Greensburg, PA. Henry Wise warranted land for a Vickory, then had a deed made that stated he had warranted the land for the Vickory gentleman, and made no claims then or ever after for the warranting of the land.
Are there any known Eastern Shore Vickory/Wise connections?

My ggg grandfather, John H. Robbins, died in Baltimore City, MD on 8/8/1870. He was married to Mary F. Cannon, of Baltimore. His obit in the Baltimore Sun has '(Dorchester co)' in it which makes me think he may have been born there. His approx. DOB is 1826. Any information on him in Dorchester Co. would be appreciated as I am at a loss on how to find his parentage.

Looking for information on John Henry Clark born circa 1869. He lived on Chincoteague Island until the age of 12. Ran away from Chicoteague Island to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania at the age of 12.
Mother's first name was Jane. She may have been a member of the Tarr family.

My Greatgranfather was John Bunting, he married Rachel Abdell July of 1830. My question who were his parents and quite puzzling is his middle initial S or W according to a CD I bought from Borderbound it is S according to my grandfather Solomon (born 1845) in Northampton co
it is a W. info given by my grandmother. The 1850 census indicates John was born abt 1807 or 8 as his age was given a 42 on the census.
How can I find the answers to these questions

Solomon and Elizabeth ? Baker are listed in published bible records as having children: William, Eunice, Noah, Elias, Jesse, Susannah, Thamen - not necessarily in that order. They lived in Broadkill One Hundred, DE around 1780-1800. William married several times, Eunice married Charles Fowler, Susannah married Baker Abbott.
I think that Noah Baker moved (along with brother Elias) to Charleston, SC in the early 1800's, married, had a family, and died there in 1822. He was listed as "Noah Dutton Baker" and married Martha Christian. One of his daughers was my ancestor.
Does anyone have an alternative path for Noah, son of Solomon Baker?

I took a little breather from genealogy but recently was contacted by a post several years ago, so I guess I'm back in "the game".
My question is:
I have a death date from a bible page for my ggrandfather. I have never been able to find a thing about how he died or where on the shore. No gravesite as well.
John T. Abrams b 6/30/1870 died 8/17/1904
wife of Margaret "Maggie" Jane Elliott.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Please email me directly.

From "Cavaliers and Pioneers" a John Fawsett owned land in Northumberland Co. in records of 1654, 1656, 1661 and 1662.
Was this the same John Fawsett who was the Kings Attorney for Accomack? Where did John, the Kings Attorney, come from?

I am looking for any information about Nathaniel J.W. Le Cato, b. 10 Aug 1835-d.31 Mar 1911. He married Elizabeth Susan Eichelberger and both are buried in Quinby. They had ten children.
I am also interested in the name "Mahalinda," which is part of the title of a novel written by N.J.W. Le Cato in 1858.
I am doing literary research.
Thanks,
