He married twice. He married Mary S. Jarvis before 1863. He married Margaret "Maggie" Susan Dunton in Accomack Co., VA, May 21, 1863. Margaret was born January 10, 1844. 363 i. Robert Dunton⁸ James was born in Northampton Co., VA February 20, 1864. Robert died July 24, 1929 at 65 years of age. He married Katherine "Kate" Mapp in Northampton Co., VA, October 8, 1889. Katherine was born in Northampton Co., VA September 29, 1869. Katherine was the daughter of Edmund Wainhouse Poulson Mapp and Catherine "Kate" Sarah Roberts. Katherine died September 27, 1936 at 66 years of age. 1870 census. Buried at Franktown, Northampton Co., VA. (Bill Wilkins) Buried at Franktown, Northampton Co., VA.

364 ii. Cora James was born in Accomack Co., VA March 17, 1866. Cora died 1930 at 64 years of age. She married Henry H. Wilkins in Northampton Co., VA, March 17, 1886. Henry was born October 10, 1847. Henry was the son of John Trower Wilkins(Dr.) and Elizabeth Ann Roberts. Henry died 1937 at 89 years of age. (Bill Wilkins)

365 iii. Charles "Charlie" Thomas James was born October 5, 1873. Charles died December 14, 1922 at 49 years of age. He married Annie Maud Whitehead in Northampton Co., VA, December 12, 1900. Annie was born in Northampton Co., VA November 5, 1873. Annie was the daughter of Jesse Whitehead and Frances J. Wilson. Annie died January 22, 1964 at 90 years of age. (Bill Wilkins)

366 iv. Helen James was born November 19, 1877. Helen died March 8, 1882 at 4 years of age.
