267. ELIZABETH⁸ STURGIS (LITTLETON⁷, LEVI⁶, RICHARD⁵, RICHARD⁴, RICHARD³, JOHN², JOHN¹) birth date unknown. ELIZABETH died 1876.

She married AUGUSTUS JOHNSON in Coventry Parish, Somerset Co., MD, January 19, 1848. AUGUSTUS was the son of ISAIAH JOHNSON. AUGUSTUS died March 21, 1862 in Somerset Co., MD. Of Accomack County, VA. (Leslie Powell Dryden, Dryden Family and Descendants; Linda Harrison) After her husband's death and before 1870, Elizabeth moved with her children to Baltimore, MD, where she supported herself as a seamstress and her son, Francis, worked as a plasterer. ELIZABETH STURGIS and AUGUSTUS JOHNSON had the following children:

288 i. LITTLETON "FRANCIS"⁹ JOHNSON was born in Somerset Co., MD February, 1849.

289 ii. ALICE OLIVIA JOHNSON was born in Somerset Co., MD May 15, 1853. ALICE died March 9, 1887 in Baltimore, MD. She married GEORGE H. HARRISON 1873. GEORGE was the son of NICHOLAS S. HARRISON and ELIZABETH GREENFIELD. The 1880 census shows Sarah Sturgis, aunt, living in his household, along with three of her daughters. Alice died of cholera the day after her daughter, Alice, was born. Her sons were sent to a boys' school and baby Alice was taken to be raised by "her mother's sister, Louise Foster." No record is found of Alice having a sister named "Louise" however, Zelenro and George J. Foster were keeping Alice in 1900. This is probably Zelenro Sturgis, Alice's first cousin.
