He married twice. He married Elizabeth Merrill. He married Comfort Truitt. Comfort was the daughter of George Truitt. In 1758, Comfort, widow of John, and her son, Luke, sold "Bowen's Discovery" to Rackliffe Bowen, son of Luke and grandson of Comfort. (Ruth T. Dryden, Worcester Land Records) John patented "Bowens Venture" in 1750, 100 acres. He gave a parcel to his son, Jethro, in 1753, and his daughter, Mary Carlisle, sold her portion in 1761. (Ruth T. Dryden, Worcester Land Records, p. 68)

46 viii. William "Billy" Bowen. He married Sarah(wife of Billy Bowen). In 1767 John Bowen willed to son Billy 100 acres of "Landown." In 1770, William of John with wife Sarah and Comfort widow of John sold 100 acres of "Landown." (Ruth T. Dryden, Worcester Land Records, p. 352)
