He married Mary Anna 'Mamie' Ayers 29 May 1887 in Somerset Co, MD.(69) Mary was born October 1870 in Accomack Co, VA.⁽⁷⁰⁾ Mary⁽⁷¹⁾ was the daughter of James E. Ayers and Margaret Ann (-----). Mary died 19 Mar 1921 in Hallwood, Acc Co, VA, at 50 years of age.⁽⁷²⁾ Her body was interred in Wessells Cem, Mears, Acc Co, VA.⁽⁷³⁾ Conflicting evidence states that she died 1922.⁽⁷⁴⁾

Conflicting evidence states that he died 1931.⁽⁷⁵⁾ A.W. Marshall of Hallwood died Wednesday, 17 Feb 1932, aged 69 years. He was survived by 9 children (Pen. Ent., 20 Feb 1932).

Buren was living 1937 in Hallwood, Acc Co, VA.⁽⁸⁶⁾ Burnie L. Marshall, aged 52 years, died at his home at Hallwood on 14 Nov 1940. Services were at the Hallwood Baptist Church, where he was a member, by Revs. Clark and Greene on 17 Nov. Interment was in Groton's Cemetery. Survivors included a wife, 1 daughter, 1 son, 4 sisters and 2 brothers, all of who were named (E.S. News, 22 Nov 1940).
