23. Mary Anna 'Mamie'^D Ayers (James E.^E)⁽¹⁵⁴⁾ was born in Accomack Co, VA October 1870.⁽¹⁵⁵⁾ Mary died 19 Mar 1921 in Hallwood, Acc Co, VA, at 50 years of age.⁽¹⁵⁶⁾ Her body was interred in Wessells Cem, Mears, Acc Co, VA.⁽¹⁵⁷⁾

She married Alexander Washington Marshall 29 May 1887 in Somerset Co, MD.(158) Alexander was born 28 Jul 1862 in Accomack Co, VA.⁽¹⁵⁹⁾ Alexander⁽¹⁶⁰⁾ was the son of Parker H. Marshall and Comfort Jane Chase. Alexander died 17 Feb 1932 in Hallwood, Acc Co, VA, at 69 years of age.⁽¹⁶¹⁾ His body was interred in Wessells Cem, Mears, Acc Co, VA.⁽¹⁶²⁾ Conflicting evidence states that he died 1931.⁽¹⁶³⁾ (See Alexander Washington Marshall for the children resulting from this marriage.)

Conflicting evidence states that she died 1922.⁽¹⁶⁴⁾ Mrs. Alexandria W. Marshall died at her home near Hallwood on 19 Mar 1921, aged 51 years, survivors were listed (Acc News, 25 Mar 1921). 10 children were named and all but Annie and Nellie have been identifed. One must be Mrs. Wm. E. Sterling and the other is Mrs. Berkley Trader.
