George W. Bird and Elizabeth C. Wessells had the following children:

John Lewis² Byrd Sr.⁽¹⁰⁸⁾ was born in Muddy Creek, Acc Co, VA 1 Jan 1853.⁽¹⁰⁹⁾ John died 18 Mar 1935 in Mearsville, Acc Co, VA, at 82 years of age.⁽¹¹⁰⁾ His body was interred in Wessells Cem, Mears, Acc Co, VA.⁽¹¹¹⁾ He married Elizabeth A. 'Bettie' Somers 17 Dec 1884 in Mappsville, Acc Co, VA.(112)

John was employed. Mr. John Louis Byrd, aged 81, died on 18 Mar 1935 at Mearsville. Survivors inlcuded 4 daughters, 2 sons, 3 sisters, and 2 brothers, all of who were named (Pen. Ent., 23 Mar 1935).

20 iii. Elizabeth D. 'Bettie' Byrd⁽¹¹⁴⁾ was born in Muddy Creek, Acc Co, VA 17 Nov 1859.⁽¹¹⁵⁾ Elizabeth is deceased. Her body was interred in Parksley Cem, Acc Co, VA.⁽¹¹⁶⁾ She married Thomas C. Grinnalds 26 Feb 1879 in Modest Town, Acc Co, VA.(117)

Elizabeth was living 1935.⁽¹¹⁸⁾ Elizabeth D. Byrd is assumed to be the unnamed child of George W. Byrd born 17 Nov 1859 (Acc Co Births, 1853-96, p. 19) as the birth year matches with her tombstone at Parksley Cemetery.

21 iv. Littleton J. Byrd⁽¹¹⁹⁾ was born in Accomack Co, VA 1863.⁽¹²⁰⁾ Littleton died 1939 at 76 years of age.⁽¹²¹⁾ His body was interred in Groton's Cem, Hallwood, Acc Co, VA.⁽¹²²⁾ He married Eliza Susan Mears 25 Jun 1884 in Muddy Creek, Acc Co, VA.(123)

Littleton was living 1935.⁽¹²⁴⁾ Littleton J. Byrd was married to Miss. Eliza S. Mears near Muddy Creek 25 Jun 1884 by Rev. T.M. Poulson (Pen. Ent., 5 Jul 1884).

22 v. Sallie D. Byrd⁽¹²⁵⁾ was born in Accomack Co, VA 1864.⁽¹²⁶⁾ Sallie died 1945 at 81 years of age.⁽¹²⁷⁾ Her body was interred in Groton's Cem, Hallwood, Acc Co, VA.⁽¹²⁸⁾ She married Joseph W. Taylor 29 Oct 1890 in Mappsville, Acc Co, VA.(129)

Sallie was living 27 Sep 1943 in Baltimore, MD.⁽¹³⁰⁾

23 vi. George Franklin Byrd⁽¹³¹⁾ was born in Accomack Co, VA 13 Aug 1868.⁽¹³²⁾ George died 27 Sep 1943 in Sanford, Acc Co, VA, at 75 years of age.⁽¹³³⁾ His body was interred in Mears Cem, Jenkins Bridge, Acc Co, VA.⁽¹³⁴⁾ He married Julia Ann Mears 25 Dec 1890 in Mappsville, Acc Co, VA.(135)

George was employed. George was living 1915 in Sanford, Acc Co, VA.⁽¹³⁶⁾ He was listed as a resident in the census report 1920 in Accomack Co, VA.⁽¹³⁷⁾ Mr. G. Frank Byrd, a Sanford merchant, age 76 years, died on 27 Sep 1943 of a heart attack. He was reared at Winterville and was in the merchantile business between Sanford and Saxis. He moved to Sanford 35 years ago. He was living with his daughter and son-in-law, Donald Corbin. His deceased wife was Julia Mears Byrd. Mr. Byrd had a son in the service in World War I and 3 sons in World War II, Col. Orville Byrd, Lt. Col. Cornelius Byrd now a P.O.W. in a Japan prison, and Chief Petty Officer Frank Byrd on the US Carrier Ranger. Mr. Byrd wanted to live to see the return of P.O.W. son. He was a member of the Sanford Methodist Church. Services were on Wednesday by Revs. Bryan, Forrest, and Ditto, with interment in the family ground at Jenkins Bridge. Survivors were listed (E.S. News, 1 Oct 1943).

24 vii. William Byrd⁽¹³⁸⁾ was born in Accomack Co, VA 10 Apr 1870.⁽¹³⁹⁾ William died before 1880.⁽¹⁴⁰⁾
