329. Charles II²⁷ (Louis I²⁸, Charlemagne²⁹, Pepin³⁰)⁽¹²⁴³⁾ was born in Frankfort-on-Main, Germany, 13 Jun 828.⁽¹²⁴⁴⁾ Charles the Bald died 6 Oct 877 in Mt. Cenlis, the Alps, at 49 years of age.⁽¹²⁴⁵⁾

He married twice. He married Ermentrude 13 Dec 842.⁽¹²⁴⁶⁾ Ermentrude was born circa 830. Ermentrude⁽¹²⁴⁷⁾ was the daughter of Odo Count of Orleans. Ermentrude died 6 Oct 869 at 39 years of age.⁽¹²⁴⁸⁾ He married Adelaide circa 850.⁽¹²⁴⁹⁾ Adelaide was born circa 830. King of France, 843, King of Lorraine, 869, crowned Emperor at Rome, 25 Dec 875.
