Elisha died 1800 in Worcester Co., MD. Will dated February 10, 1800, Probate September 19, 1800. He named his wife, Mary,
daughters Martha, Mary, Sarah and Elizabeth, son-in-law James Trip and John Purnell, grandsons Elisha Purnell, Jephthat Purnell Marshall.
Witnesses: Esme Purnell, Milby Purnell and James Houston, Jr. (Ruth T. Dryden, Worcester Co., MD Will Book JBR f.126)
He married Mary Ayres. Elisha was under age in 1760 and was still living in 1780. He owned a tract at
"Purnell's Industry." (Ruth T. Dryden, Worcester Land Records) He served as 1st Lt., Worcester Militia, Sinepuxent Battalion, Capt. John
Purnell's Co., August 30, 1777 and commissioned Captain August 14, 1779. (Henry C. Peden, Revolutionary Patriots of Worcester & Somerset)

in Worcester Co., MD, 1797. John was the son of Robert Purnell and Nancy(wife of Robert Purnell). John died about
1808 in Worcester Co., MD. William Lankford was appointed guardian to John Purnell, orphan of Robert, at February Court, 1807.
