He married Hester "Hesse" Fisher before 1790. Hester was born in Worcester Co., MD January 13, 1765. Hester was the daughter of Jabez Fisher and Elizabeth Purnell. Hester died December 16, 1855 in Worcester Co., MD. Her body was interred in Worcester Co., MD, All Hallows Cemetery. Isaac Purnell's distribution of Negroes, the deceased's widow now Mrs. Jones, meet at the house of Thomas Jones, John Marshall a near friend; son Thomas Purnell; son John Purnell, April Court 1808.
