246. Rouse Fassitt⁵ Purnell (William⁴, Matthew³, Thomas², Thomas¹) was born in Worcester Co., MD February, 1780. Rouse died 1822 in Worcester Co., MD.

He married Sally Duncan. Sally was the daughter of William Duncan. In Genealogy of the Purnell Family, Melanie Merryweather shows Sally's first husband was named Miller. December, 1780, Mary Purnell was given guardianship of Rouse Purnell, aged 11 months, son of William Purnell. (Wor. Co. Orphan's Court Proceedings, Liber JW15, f.145-research of Vern Skinner). He was called son by Mary Simpson in her will of 1787 and noted as under age.

Rouse Fassitt Purnell and Sally Duncan had the following children:

553 i. Mary Ann⁶ Purnell was born 1816. She is noted as an adult baptism on June 16, 1833 at Buckingham Presbyterian Church as daughter of Rouse Purnell.

554 ii. Jane Purnell was born about 1818. She married Parker Eli Wharton. (Agnes J. Parseen, MD Genealogical Society)

555 iii. Thomas Fassitt Purnell was born about 1820. Thomas died 1894 in Worcester Co., MD. He married Caroline Ariadne Waller. (Melanie Ayres Merryweather, Genealogy of the Purnell Family)
