343. WILLIAM THOMAS "JOHN"⁶ PURNELL (GEORGE WASHINGTON⁵, WILLIAM⁴, ELISHA³, THOMAS², THOMAS¹) was born in Worcester Co., MD July 11, 1815. WILLIAM died May 22, 1872 in Worcester Co., MD, at 56 years of age. His body was interred in Worcester Co., MD.

He married ELIZABETH B.C. COTTMAN in Worcester Co., MD, November 7, 1843. ELIZABETH was born April 18, 1824. ELIZABETH died August 11, 1889 in Worcester Co., MD, at 65 years of age. He had five children. (Matthew Wise, The Littleton Heritage, p. 422)

WILLIAM THOMAS "JOHN" PURNELL and ELIZABETH B.C. COTTMAN had the following children:

604 i. GEORGE WILLIAM COTTMAN⁷ PURNELL was born August 15, 1844. GEORGE died May 16, 1897 at 52 years of age.

605 ii. MARY OUTTEN PURNELL was born in Worcester Co., MD November 26, 1847.

606 iii. JAMES PURNELL was born in Worcester Co., MD about 1849.

607 iv. ELEANORA W. PURNELL was born in Worcester Co., MD December 6, 1851. ELEANORA died October 24, 1894 in Worcester Co., MD, at 42 years of age. Her body was interred in Worcester Co., MD, St. Paul's Church Cemetery.

608 v. JOHN COTTMAN PURNELL was born October 15, 1860.
