344. GEORGE WASHINGTON⁶ PURNELL (JR.)(DR.) (GEORGE WASHINGTON⁵, WILLIAM⁴, ELISHA³, THOMAS², THOMAS¹) was born in Worcester Co., MD about 1818. GEORGE died in New Orleans, LA.

He married ELIZA E. (wife of George W. Purnell). George was in Worcester for the 1850 census and moved to New Orleans by 1860, where he practiced medicine. (Matthew Wise, The Littleton Heritage, p. 422)

GEORGE WASHINGTON PURNELL (Jr.)(Dr.) and ELIZA E. (wife of George W. Purnell) had the following children:

609 i. MATILDA A.⁷ PURNELL was born in Worcester Co., MD about 1845.

610 ii. LAVINIA E. PURNELL was born in Worcester Co., MD about 1847.

611 iii. JAMES F. PURNELL was born in Worcester Co., MD about 1848. He married twice. He married MARY E. DENNIS in Worcester Co., MD, February 27, 1872. MARY died before 1889. He married HESTER HAMMOND in Worcester Co., MD, October 6, 1889.
