238. JOHN⁵ PURNELL (DR.) (WILLIAM⁴, ELISHA³, THOMAS², THOMAS¹) was born in Worcester Co., MD 1765.

He married HENRIETTA PURNELL in Worcester Co., MD, about 1793. HENRIETTA was born in Worcester Co., MD about 1770. HENRIETTA was the daughter of LEMUEL PURNELL (Judge) and DENNIS HOPKINS. (Matthew Wise, The Littleton Heritage, p. 422)

JOHN PURNELL (Dr.) and HENRIETTA PURNELL had the following children:

488 i. SARAH "SALLY" A.⁶ PURNELL was born in Worcester Co., MD November 24, 1794. SARAH died June 25, 1855 in Worcester Co., MD, at 60 years of age. Her body was interred in Snow Hill, Worcester Co., MD. She is buried at the Methodist Episcopal Cemetery at Snow Hill. She married JOHN IRVING MOORE about 1823. JOHN was the son of WILLIAM MOORE and MARY WAILES.

JOHN died before December, 1845. Sally was named in the will of Littleton Robins in 1815. (Matthew Wise, The Littleton Heritage, p. 422). Her descendants are traced in Wise and Merryweather.

489 ii. JOHN ROBINS PURNELL (Dr.) was born in Worcester Co., MD about 1796. JOHN died about 1857. He married MARY P. MITCHELL in Worcester Co., MD, November 3, 1835. (license date)

MARY was born 1809. MARY died 1893 at 84 years of age. (Matthew Wise, The Littleton Heritage, p. 422)
