431. MILBY6 PURNELL (THOMAS5, LEVI4, MATTHEW3, THOMAS2, THOMAS1) birth date unknown. MILBY died 1805 in Worcester Co., MD.

He married twice. He married DAUGHTER HAMMOND. DAUGHTER was the daughter of EDWARD HAMMOND. He married MILLY HOUSTON. Milby was under age 18 in 1774. His father left him the plantation in the possession of his Uncle Azariah and 8 acres of branch and timber being part of this tract. Milby's wife at the time of his death was Milly; she renounced and took her thirds. Melanie Merryweather shows he married Amelia Parker in 1795. Milby states that Edward Hammon was grandfather to his son, Levi. He named his cousins (nephews) Thomas Dixon Purnell and William Purnell of Quepongo as executors.

MILBY PURNELL and DAUGHTER HAMMOND had the following child:

child 676 i. LEVI7 PURNELL. His father gave him "Purnells Security" and "Addition to Sherburn" if his grandfather, Edward Hammond, makes no claim. He was named in the will of William Purnell in 1819 as a child of Milby.

MILBY PURNELL and MILLY HOUSTON had the following children:

child 677 ii. HETTY PURNELL. She was under age 16 in 1805. Hetty was named in the will of William Purnell in 1819 as a child of Milby.

child 678 iii. THOMAS PURNELL. His father gave him "Purnells Industry. He was named as cousin by Thomas D. Purnell in 1814 and named in the will of William Purnell in 1819 as a child of Milby.

child 679 iv. WILLIAM PURNELL. His father left him lands that he'd bought with Charles Hammond. He was named as cousin by Thomas D. Purnell in 1814 and named in the will of William Purnell in 1819 as a child of Milby.

child 680 v. AMELIA "MILLY" HOUSTON PURNELL. She married WILLIAM PURNELL. WILLIAM was born in Worcester Co., MD after 1782. WILLIAM was the son of LEVI PURNELL (Jr.) and DELILAH BRITTINGHAM. WILLIAM died 1819 in Worcester Co., MD, at 36 years of age. He was named in his father's will and is called "cousin" by his uncle, Milby Purnell in 1805. He was identified as William of Quepongo. William named four of Milby Purnell's children in his will. He did not name Milby's daughter, Milly; however, Milby's wife was named Milla. It appears William married his cousin, Milly Houston Purnell. She was under age 16 in 1805. She was named as cousin by Thomas D. Purnell in 1814. She is the only child of Milby not named by William Purnell in 1819; William Purnell's wife's name was Milly. It is believed but NOT proved that Milly was the wife of William Purnell.
