He married twice. He married SARAH BRATTON. He married LEAH MILLS. John died intestate. His children were named in his father's 1814 will.

JOHN OUTTEN STURGIS (Jr.) had the following children:

854 i. HANDY MILLS⁷ STURGIS. He married CATHARINE Q. HARPER. CATHARINE was the daughter of SAMUEL ADAMS HARPER. Catharine was named in her father's will and given his dwelling plantation. He left her 7 acres "Addition to Chance" and "Tarr Kill Ridge." (Ruth T. Dryden, Worcester Land Records, pp. 104, 622)

JOHN OUTTEN STURGIS (Jr.) and LEAH MILLS had the following children:

858 v. SARAH MILLS STURGIS. She married an unknown person. Her mother named her Sarah M. Brittingham in her will.

859 vi. JOHN OUTTEN STURGIS (III) was born 1803. JOHN died after 1840. He married ELIZA NELSON. ELIZA was the daughter of JOEL NELSON and PRISCILLA STURGIS. (Floyd C. Otter, Ash Tree Echo, Jan. 1981, Vol. XVI, Fresno Genealogical Society) John was named in his mother's 1837 will and appears in the 1840 census of Worcester County.
